What’s up with our prices?

Well, having prices is a good idea but they never can be 100% exact. We can’t write a bar price parser software because it has to visit bars (they rarely publish menus or have websites, what you can get is a picture of menu in a social network). Ticket prices vary from day to day. Russian economy is quite unstable now. Something becomes cheaper, something becomes more expensive every day. So what do we mean when we put a price but mark it with asterisk (*)?

Giselle ballet

Theatre prices

We post some kind of an ‘average’ entry ticket price. If we see that tickets vary from $56 to $198 we will probably write something like “Price: $60”.

Theatre ticket prices usually start from the amount mentioned here

Yusupov Palace on Moika

Museum prices

Museum prices are usually the entry price. For example the entrace costs 450 rubles. At the monent we post the price we calculate it is $6.3. Then we write ‘Price: $7″. We don’t include audioguide, excursions in English or extra exhibitions entry price in museums we talk about.

Museum price is entry price only

Svoi Wine & Beer

Bar/club prices

Those prices are some average amount of money needed to spend 3-4 hours in this place. We base it on our experience. If you see a bar with $35 price this means that you can spend about $35 there for a dish, snack and two beers… Or have 3-4 cocktails and a snack… Or have two pints and a ton of shots… Or something like that. So this is some kind of a price for an average satisfying visit.

Bar/club prices are prices for 2-4 hours of staying there and drinking a lot

Dom restraunt

Restraunt prices

Restraunt prices are based on our experience and include some average dinner with a glass of wine. However this price is approximate: nearly every restraunt has cheap and expensive dishes. So we couldn’t invent anything better than using this average price that will be probably enough for a dinner.

Restraunt price is a dinner price

We hope prices will help you building your trip’s budget. But remember they are never 100% exact!
