This theatre was founded in 1929 and become extremely popular very soon after. It became so famous because of great operettas that were on here. The theatre survived the Siege of Leningrad in the Second World War. During 900 days of the Siege the theatre was working and they were playing operettas for starving citizens. The building was damaged by the bomb but it was restored later. Theatre looks quite modest outside but inside it is marvellous!

Great shows

This theatre runs mostly ballets during the summer. Locals adore operettas and plays, but tourists prefer ballet somewhy. Theatre’s Top-1 show is ‘Swan Lake’ classic ballet.

Location is awesome, it’s minutse away from Arts square and from Nevskiy prospect.

Tickets available online

You can get tickets online thanks to the Internet. They are quite expensive, but it is nearly impossible to buy them at cheaper price online without knowing Russian and paying in rubles.

There is a dress code here. Wear some more or less formal clothes please.
