St. Isaac’s cathedral is enormously big for such an old building. And, of course, beautiful. It is the largest orthodox basilica and the fourth largest (by the volume under the cupola) cathedral in the world. Marvellous interiors are a must-see. If you are fit enough, you can climb endless ladders to the roof and enjoy the St. Petersburg panotramic view from the highest spot in the city centre.

Marvellous building

A beautiful cathedral constructed in 1858 is the highest spot in the city centre. It’s neoclassical exterior is famous for 112 big columns and a large copper cupola shining in the sun. Well, pictures above describe it better.

Beautiful interiors

The inside of cathedral is decorated by perfect religious paintings. The volume of this cathedral is really impressive, it is full of lights and really wonderful. Paintings were made by Karl Bryullov and other great Russian masters of the day.

Highest spot in the city center

This is the highest place in the center you can get into. Visitors are welcome to go to the observation deck. But be careful, there is no elevator and cathedral is very high! It will be a hard challenge to climb all those ladders!
