Museum of Etnography is a wonderful collection of about 500 000 items related to the cultures of peoples of the former Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. Here you can see how different nations lived tens and hundereds years ago. If you love history – you can spend hours here looking how people in Russia lived at that time. A really interesting place for those who are interested in our country, it’s culture and it’s history!

Interesting installations

Some items are arranged into installations where wax figures of people are doing their everyday work like fixing something or sewing in a corner representing the way their houses looked. All items used there are 100% original (except for wax figures of course).

Great location

It is just a few steps from Russian museum and Mikhailovsky theatre on a pretty Arts square. This is just a stonethrow from Nevskiy prospect.
