Sooooo beautiful
Gardens, palaces and fountains designed by the best architectors of the time. All in perfect condition. People usually spend the whole day there so don’t even plan to finish in an hour. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Fountains everywhere
Marvellous Grand Cascade, famous Samson fountain and hundreds of smaller fountains. Beware of fountain traps: Peter the Great loved some practical jokes so you may get sprayed if you step on a wrong rock 🙂 Don’t take things that are afraid of water with you.
Lots of separate parks and museums
Main entrance (Upper park) is free but it is nearly nothing to do. Lower park (main attraction) entrance is around $7. Museums and extra parks have their own ticket windows, but be ready to stand in a queue. So there is a reason to buy tickets online. You can’t book tickets to Grand Peterhof palace, they are sold at the park only.
Distant location
Peterhof is located 20 km from St. Petersburg. A taxi to Peterhof may cost a pretty penny! So go to Avtovo metro station by underground and get a taxi there. You can also ask people around to show you the small bus to Peterhof (a lot of people here have basic knowledge of English). Then ask if someone speaks English in a bus and ask to tell you where Peterhoff is. But still better get a taxi!
Address: Peterhoff town, Razvodnaya street, 2 (entrance is on St. Petersburg prospect)
