This fortress is a symbol of the city, it serves like a city’s logo sometimes. It is definitely the most famous landmark of St. Petersburg. You will see it if you go to Hermitage, Basil’s island or fields of Mars. You will definitely see it in every boat trip or bus tour sold in the city. You will see it even if you don’t leave your hotel: on some postcards, menus, newspapers, pens or whatever.

Free and easy to find
The fortress is 5 minutes away from Gorkovskaya metro station. You can walk there by foot, it takes about 30-40 minutes from the beginning of Nevskiy prospect or fromm Nevskiy and Sadovaya crossroad. The entrance is free, but every museum has a separate ticket (tickets are unlikely to be over 10 dollars).
