Kontakt bars are cheap bars for students mostly. They are really big and really cheap. 5 dollars is enough to buy 3 pints of local lager here. Service is awesome and incredibly quick, all waiters have hands-free headphones and send orders to the bar right away. You don’t wait a lot even when bar is full on weekend night. It is a great place for those who don’t care their Mojito is a bit imperfect.

This marvellous cathedral is the main landmark in the area around Sennaya square. But the most interesting thing is inside it’s walls. The decoration of this cathedral is wonderful, you won’t forget that interior! Entrance is free but please keep in mind this is a working church so they may not let you in if they have some ceremony or if you are not dressed according to dresscode.

The craziest place in town. We wish we could lure you here without telling the secret, but there is no chance… So the secret is that in Purga they always have a fake wedding party and in another room they have a fake new year party. This is soooo unusual! People here are extremely friendly and positive, everyone is happy and what else do you really need to know? Who the hell cares about music or food when you have such a fun? The hardest party ever! Yeah, and in summer they have a party ship cruising around the city’s rivers.

This place is completely unknown to tourists but incredibly popular among local party people during hot summer weekends. This is a big and beautiful rooftop bar on the open air. The view is great and so is the music: they have some events every weekend evening. This is another place where the most popular Russian DJs play so be ready for some really nice music and great pre-party (this place closes around 1 am so it is pre-party only). Check their schedule on Facebook to see what they have this weekend. Well, we say Hi Hat is definitely worth visiting!

Well, it is like every bar on Dumskaya. You can hardly distinguish it from other bars around. But still there are some differences: cocktails here are better and a bit more expensive (probably $4.5 for a long drink, not $4 like everywhere on Dumskaya). So people here are a bit older (around 23 or 28) and it feels a bit safer here. This bar is never so much packed on weekends so you will probably come in if you hate crowded places. By the way, it opened in 2016 so it is quite new so there is not so much info on Tripadvisor yet. Anyway, if you go to Dumskaya street you might jump in, it is fun!

This is just another place on Dumskaya street. What is special here? Nothing except for 2 facts. Fact one: this place is big, it has several dancefloors (we were to drunk to count as it was around 6 in the morning). Fact 2: they have concerts in the evening. But those concerts are probably not worth visiting as you won’t know a single band or DJ playing there. Even most locals never heard of those guys 😉 So the way you will use this club is obvious: this will be another great place where you come to party! And it is popular within people barely over 18 so if you are a young person you know where to go! Just another place with drunk people, cheap drinks and a ton of fun. No Tripadvisor page for this bar, sorry, Foursquare only.

Well, this place is nearly quiet and very peaceful and completely safe. What else do you need at Dumskaya street when you get tired of alcotrash around? Motion is a bar with good cocktails and nice hookahs so you are welcome to chill, drink and vape here! Great and relaxing place. The only trouble is it’s size: it is so tiny it is always busy and you rarely get a seat there.

The famous Russian classic’s flat. You probably know Dostoevsky well enough if you are here at the page. So if you love this author – you are welcome to see the house where he lived his last years and died. He wrote the famous novel ‘Karamazov brothers’ here. The museum also has a theatre and two exhibition rooms (expositions there change from time to time, sometimes they are empty, but sometimes they host some classic literature fests and other events). You have to know Russian to understand what a great poet was Pushkin. But he is good enough even in translation. He was not only a famous poet, but also a political prisoner: he spent several years in exile (but luckily was never inprisoned). This museum is a flat where he lived his last years until his tragic death on a duel. A museum is not very big, but really interesting by two reasons: first is Pushkin and his life and second is the life noble people had in the beginning of XIX century. Finally, this place has a beatiful courtyard so you can just come in to walk around it.

Second is the biggest collection of wines (mostly from France). It is an extremely cozy and nice place for wine lovers with delicious food. And it is right here on Zhukovskogo street.
