Giselle, or The Wilis is a classic romantic ballet. It is written by Adolphe Adam in 1841. The ballet became incredibly popular. It was (and is) widely known in Russia, Europe and US. Now, 170 years later, i is still popular and known worldwide. This classic show is usually on in 2 or 3 theatres of Saint Petersburg too. This is a fantastic show, if you love ballet and you have seen Russian ‘Swan Lake’ already – this is where you should go.

Nowadays this ballet is incredibly popular worldwide. It is classic! And it is staged in a lot of theatres of Saint Petersburg. Marvellous costumes, great choreography by city top ballet tropes and a classic story about love that is stronger than death – this is what is Giselle.
