Erarta museum of contemporary art

Ererta is a new museum (established in 2010) – and one of the most interesting ones as we think! Contemporary art never leaves you uninterested: you love it or hate it. The collection is so big here you won’t be disappointed, usually it’s 2 or 3 hours people spend here wandering from one exposition to another. Erarta also hosts some shows, film shows, exhibitions and other interesting events (however shows and films are mostly on weekends). By the way, if you gather into a big group – they will assign you a guide for free. The only trouble is location: this place is rather far from city center on Vasilievsky island so you have to get a taxi or go by public transport (both by metro and a bus most probably).

Art is everywhere

Some interiors are decorated by street artists. Sculptures of Era and of Art are also there at the entrance. Sometimes you can’t tell is it the gallery item or just an interior design item? Really interesting!

You can buy something

The first floor has an ‘Ererta gallery’ that sells paintings. But please mind that Erarta gallery and Erarta museum have nothing in common except for the name. So items displayed in museum are not for sale, you can buy only ‘Erarta gallery’ items.

Address: line 29 of Vasilievsky island 2 (even locals get confused with those line numbers, just ask anyone where is Ererta or google it)
