Dostoevsky lived a dramatic life

Dostoevsky was a political prisoner and spent a big part of his life being in colony and in exile. This author is known for being sentenced to death for treason and taken to death row for execution but acquittal was given in last second when soldiers were already commanded to aim at target. One of prisoners who were there in a row with Dostoevsky has gone mad and never returned to normal state of mind. Of course his fault was not so big, he just didn’t tell the police about some anti-religious book being published, they didn’t shoot people for that. But maybe that’s why Dostoevsky’s books are so misterious and show the darkest parts of human nature sometimes? You may try to find an answer in his flat.

Intersting for history lovers

Dostoevsky was quite a rich person, he didn’t have to work for his living as he was a landlord. But he didn’t live a luxurious life. Even though he was a star of his time his flat can’t be called a king’s castle. You can see here how modest people lived in the end of XIX century in Russia.
