The only true myth about Russia is that ballet and opera are incredibly popular here. We don’t have bears and don’t wear valenki (only in Siberia at winter) – but we really love ballet. And Russian ballet is known worldwide as probably best ballet in the world. The same thing is about opera. As soon as you are reading this you most probably are interested in ballet or opera and know this already. But the worst thing about Russian shows is that you can hardly find a ticket: you need to know Russian to buy it at a theatre plus you have to do it in advance. There still is a shop where you can find most of ballet tickets: Russian Broadway. They sell tickets online. Tickets are much more expensive than in theatres but this is the only way we found to buy tickets online. The list of shows here is not big: most shows have a couple of stages at a season and we hardly see a reason to post them. We post only shows that run on regular basis. We also added a folk show: you can have some fun wathcing traditional Russian dance there. For full list of shows in St Petersburg please visit Russian Broadway. And of course your guide or travel agency may help you with tickets too.
