Don’t even hope to stay hungry in Saint Petersburg. Russians are good eaters and we have a lot of restraunts in our city. From a cheap kebab house to a posh restraunt with a rooftop view and wines over $50. We enlist every place where the food is worth eating regardless of it’s class, service or interior quality so here you can find anything but bad food. Finding a place to eat is often a trouble. Probably every city in the world has it’s best restraunts somwhere else but the main touristic places. Our city is the same: you can hardly find a good place on Nevsky or around Hermitage where tourists usually walk a lot. So please at least remember the name and location of Rubinsteina street, it is filled with nicest cafes and restraunts. But you’d better check this page out and make a wishlist not to forget the places you’ve chosen when you come here. Don’t forget to come back for more, we still add new nice places to this website.

The Idiot restraunt
$40The Idiot restraunt
Well, this is definitely the most famous russian cuisine restraunt in the city named after F. M. Dostoevsky’s novel. Atmosphere is fantastic, staff is friendly, food is great. Nearly no Russians can be found here (we have a plenty of russian cuisine at home and rearly visit russian restraunts). The nice thing is that they bring you complementary shots of vodka. Lots of people enjoy it so it has mostly excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. And the reason is that ‘The Idiot’ is really a nice place!

Koryushka restraunt
$30Koryushka restraunt
This seafood restraunt is located right near the Peter and Paul’s fortress. This is probably the most popular restraunt in the city now: please be sure to reserve a table because every evening it seems to be completely full (especially when the weather is sunny). The view from Koryushka must be the best in the city: you sit on a river bank and see the split of Vasilievsky island in several hundreds meters. Needless to say that cuisine is excellent here!

Rubinstein cafe
$30Rubinstein cafe
The sign says ‘Rubinstein cafe’, but it is not a cafe. They cook so well we call them a restraunt. And we are sure this place is a great restraunt, somewhy not so popular and not promoted – but definitely one of the best restraunts in the whole city. Delicious, really delicious food. The choice is not so big but this is not a problem. And the atmosphere is great, people are pleased and smily. Wonderful place!

Vinny Shkaf
$35Vinny Shkaf
‘Vinny shkaf’ is a ‘wine locker’ in Russian. You probably think it is a wine bar? Well, that’s partly true… But the other thing about this place is that it has a great cuisine. So we proudly call this place a restraunt. It has some really awesome and unusual dishes like lamb with cacao cuscus or duck leg with wild wheat garnish. Menu changes every season so it is often something new there. Yes, we nearly forgot the wine: they have a great list of wine!
