Konyushenaya region consists of several streets (nice bars are there) and a big block of old houses (clubs are there). This place is a stonethrow both from Nevsky and from the Savior on Spilt Blood. This place is not actually a bar street. It is just a district full of different bars, cafes and clubs. They are not at one spot at all, but you can spend a great night walking around this area. Bolshaya Konyushennaya street has several nice wine bars, Kobyushennaya square is full of restraunts, Griboedov channel quay has several cafes and a jazz club and the block between them has a pack of clubs. Probably best dance music in the city is here! You won’t ever regret if you study this region, make a plan and come here together with your friends. O’Hooligans is an irish pub visited mostly by younger people, both by ladies and gentlemen (unlike other pubs which are occupied mostly by middle-aged men). There are three pubs in the city, two of them are in the city center. A good choice of beers and cider, lots of cocktails, shots and some loud music – what else do you need for a great evening? The cuisine is simple but tasty and steaks are really good. The pub is really packed at weekend nights from 8 pm till midnight so you’d better reserve a table or wait a little bit (please ask a waiter to notify you if someone leaves). On weekends there is some live music so don’t go there if you plan to chat a lot. The atmosphere is great, this is another place where people smile a lot! It’s also #21 in Tripadvisor list of restraunts in the city and has a Certificate of Excellence. So now just shut up and add it to your wishlist 🙂

Daiquiri bars is probably the most popular cocktail bar in the city. Perfect cocktails, nicest atmosphere. It is popular both among locals and tourists. If you see a ‘DAIQUIRI’ sign somewhere – come in right away! It’s a great place for a pre-party or just for a long drink after a hard day in the city. The bar’s slogan is “Reality is a hallucination caused by lack of alcohol” 😉

A truely underground techno club. Really, really true. A place of great quality. Deep sound, dark but spacy interior that reminds some kind of an underground tunnel. Music is really great here! Bar is big and buying something even on weekend night is not a problem. There is hardly any serious facecontrol, but the entrance is not free (about 3-5 dollars). That’s quite a good place, you should check it out if you are about to party in our city!

This is a music club with an underground atmosphere. The music is usually awesome, the most famous Russian DJs play here. But don’t be in a wonder to see DJs from Australia or UK: they often invite some serious guys from abroad. However everything depends on a DJ here: sometimes parties suck due to shitty DJ playing that day. The interior is 100% underground, the most impressive thing here is acoustics that is really great. This is one of the best clubs in town and the facecontrol is strict here. They are kind of a ‘secret’ place: they do no ads and they don’t even have a sign on their door so it is quite hard to find. So at the day this review is written thay have no TripAdvisor page or reviews. Read a bit more about that below.

This night club is next door to Stackenschneider and it is a great and wonderful place full of deep house music and partying people. The atmosphere is fantastic, the interiors remind a gothic church and the music performed by top russian DJs is really awesome. The club is very small so be sure it is completely packed at weekend nights – and this is where fun begins in St. Petersburg, we hate spacy clubs here! Entrance is free but they have a severe facecontrol so please smile and dress well. This is a truely awesome place so you’d better not miss it at weekend night!

Dom 7 is a jazz night club in the center of St. Petersburg. It is in a stonethrow from Savior on Spilt Blood, Konyushennaya square and Nevskiy prospect. Live jazz is played here by Russian and foreign bands. This place is best for short but satisfying visits on weekends (it is usually packed with visitors and you can’t get a seat). By the way, you can try it on weekdays, there is some music and some party on weekdays too. The party starts around 9 or 10 pm and finishes around 1-2 am so it is greatly combined with other Konyishennaya district clubs where people go late at night. This place is popular within people of 30+ years old, but some youngsters also come here. There is no facecontrol and the entrance is free. On weekdays it closes at midnight.

Arka is a nice neat bar with awesome music and great cocktails. An atmosphere here is very friendly: people who seat at the bar usually talk to each other (this is not so usual in Russia, our culture is like ‘we don’t talk to strangers a lot unless we really like them’). But if you want to relax a bit you can take the seat at the table. There is a DJ playing some relaxing lounge music. The cuisine is worth tasting and the bar is definitely worth tasting because they have a rather big list of unusual cocktails. So if you like good drinks, friendly people and nice music – you are welcome to Arka. You’ll never regret you came here even though it is a bit pricy.

Vinostudia is a wine bar with some nice food and good atmosphere. Very popular among lagies. They have 3 bars in the city centre. If you want some chill after a hard day… If you have a date or another meeting… If you lead a group of wine lovers for pre-party…. Or even if you are just hungry and pass it by… You are welcome for a glass of wine and even more!

Surprisingly the best restraunts of our city are not always restraunts. This wine bar is just like this. Wonderful food here is accompanied mostly German, Austrian, Slovenian and Russian wines. The menu is not big but extremely unusual. What about spruce ice cream? Or stewed rabbit with buckwheat lasagne sheets? They also have open kitchen so you can see chef at work. Interiors are great and location is awesome. You will love this place for sure.

A good and funny thing to know about Soviet Union is that we had lots of arcade machines here. Some of working arcade machines are in this museum and you can play them. Get a cup of soviet lemonade in a soda machine, insert a coin and start playing! That’s really funny, those old mostly mechanical monsters are still working well and playing is sometimes really interesting! Just a great entertainment anyone can have for about 6 dollars! By the way, playing 15 machines is included into the price.
